Found in
southeast Asia, Malaysia is nestled in between Thailand to the north and
Singapore to the south. Although Malaysia is similar to other places in
Asia, the country itself has many features found only in Malaysia. But
like any other country or city in the world, there are certain areas
that could be improved on to help boost tourism, and likewise help the
country itself.

One thing a visitor
will notice is that Malaysia is not an extremely clean
country; this is especially apparent when traveling
north through Singapore. When crossing the bridge from
Singapore into Malaysia, garbage can be seen filling the
waterway as well as many other cities in the country.
Cleaning up the garbage would go a long way toward
giving a much needed face-lift to Malaysia.

As in other less
developed countries, stray dogs and cats can be found on
almost any street corner and back alleyway. Not only are
they stray, but they aren't the healthiest looking
animals. This is mostly due to individuals not having
enough money to spay and neuter their animals. This can
be hard to see for visitors who have a special
connection with animals and don't like to see them
suffer.

One of the most
frusterating parts about visiting Malaysia is not being
able to drink the tap water. This also goes for most tea
served in local street markets. The water is not clean
and can cause a visitor to become sick, which will
quickly ruin any day of the vacation. Bottled water is
not very expensive, however, it is not uncommon to be
stuck on a train or someplace else where bottled water
isn't available.
